RS3 Black Arrow Coming This August

Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, announced today that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft will launch in August 2004. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow improves upon the most successful Xbox(tm) Live game of all time with new single- and multiplayer missions, new online modes, split-screen for cooperative gameplay, and a host of new features that maximize the possibilities of Xbox Live. In fact, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow will be the one of the first games to deliver new Xbox Live features to the gaming community. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow continues in the vein of last year’s mega-hit, which received a number of awards, including Console First-Person Action Game of the Year from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), Shooter of the Year from GMR Magazine, and Best First-Person Shooter and Best Online Game from IGN. In the game, players command a four-man international anti-terrorist squad comprised of the cream of the crop from the United States, Germany, Britain, and France as they infiltrate a ring of nefarious terrorists and halt their bloody quest for weapons and power. The popular voice-activated command system, individual personalities of the team members, and comprehensive Xbox Live multiplayer capabilities will be familiar to current devotees, while the new missions and features will attract a new crop of players. "Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 has owned Xbox Live for months now - gamers can’t get enough of the incredible online experience. We’re giving them more of what they crave, and improving Xbox Live play by integrating new multiplayer modes and being one of the first out of the gate with new Xbox Live features," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "A new split-screen feature for offline co-op play will significantly enhance the offline replay value of the game - and the awesome online capabilities will deliver even more hours of thrilling, intense gameplay." About Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow for Xbox A series of attempts to kidnap telemetry and rocket scientists pulls Team Rainbow into a spiderweb of international intrigue. An international cabal of renegade military officers is trying to create conflict in the oil-rich regions around the Black Sea, giving them an excuse to swoop in and seize control. Team Rainbow must stop the terrorists from developing weapons of mass destruction and prevent them from starting a devastating war. Key Features " New Single-Player Campaign: Complete diversified and challenging objectives, use new weapons and equipment, and enjoy beautiful Mediterranean and Eastern European level environments. " Improved, Smarter AI Terrorists: Watch the bad guys call for backup when they are outnumbered or use hostages as human shields. " New Objective-Based Game Modes: o Capture the Point: Teams battle to capture and hold designated points on the map. o Capture the Flag: Teams must race to the center to take possession of a specific item and defend it as they carry it back to their compound. " Black Arrow will be one of the first games to offer the new Xbox(tm) Live(tm) features, such as: o User-created tournaments; o Messenging; and o Clan statistics. " New Tactics for Online Multiplayer: Enter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow’s new, private team lobbies and use a planning interface to develop strategies before online matches begin.
