Virtua Cop 3 Console Port Undecided
Plans for a console port of Sega-AM2’s Virtua Cop 3 have yet to go forward, producer Makoto Osaki said today. Commenting on the issue in the regular Weekly-AM2 news column, Osaki said that while AM2 is weighing the possibility of a console version of the game, a few issues still stand in the way. Chief among those issues is the need for an extra peripheral to go with the game. A Virtua Cop 3 port would be most easily made for the Xbox, since the original version of the game runs on the Xbox-based Chihiro arcade hardware, but there is no first-party Xbox light gun available, whether from Sega or Microsoft. Programming compatibility with progressive-scan video would also apparently be a source of some problems.Source: http://www.1up.com/
