In the Dugout with the Inside Pitch Team

Here’s your chance to get all the inside dirt on Inside Pitch 2003! Chat live with the development team from Microsoft Game Studios. Hit up Program Manager Rich Reagan, Lead Developer Tom Carbone, and Lead Designer Matt McEnerney for all the behind-the-scenes info you’ve been wondering about. Be here Thursday, June 5 at 4:30 p.m. Pacific (that’s 7:30 p.m. at Fenway Park). The Xbox Live Chat Room: Click Here To Get There! Participant Bios: Rich Reagan – Program Manager, Inside Pitch 2003 Rich doesn’t have a personal theme song, but he wishes it were "Baby Got Back." Of all baseball players living or dead he’d trade places with Cal Ripkin, Jr. He’s worked in the games industry for years, starting out as a quality assurance manager and working his way to production. Some of his recent projects have been pro wrestling titles and a Monsters Inc. game for Disney. In an alternate universe he’d be a professional wrestler, his favorite bad film is Showgirls (he can even quote dialog from it—who knew it had dialog?!), and he believes the greatest moment in baseball was "Tommy Lasorda not walking Jack Clark in the 1985 League Championship series. Jack smacked a three-run homer that put the Cards in the World Series." Tom Carbone – Lead Developer, Inside Pitch 2003 Tom has been programming practically since birth. His favorite game ever is Baseball Stars, favorite film is Back to the Future, and favorite album is Alphaville’s Forever Young. If he could trade places with any ballplayer he’d pick Ted Williams. According to Tom, the greatest moment in baseball history is Kirk Gibson’s 3-and-2, bottom-of-the-ninth game-winning home run off Dennis Eckersley in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. In an alternate universe Tom would be a fly-fishing guide, and if he could only have one kind of candy for the rest of his life, he’d choose Smarties. Matt McEnerney – Lead Designer, Inside Pitch 2003 Matt has been a gamer since waaaay back when he played Space Invaders in his local pizza joint. He used to teach high school English and coach college track and field. But eventually he found his way to games. He was the lead designer for Acclaim’s All-Star Baseball 2002, 2003, and 2004. Matt would enjoy having Wolverine’s power to heal rapidly, his favorite game ever is Microleague Baseball for the Commodore 64, and in an alternate universe he’d be pitching every fourth day for the Yankees. His personal greatest moment in baseball was attending Game 1 of the 2000 series between the Mets and the Yankees with his brother Mike. He thinks the greatest moment historically was Lou Gehrig’s farewell speech.
