Activision Introduces Call of Duty

Activision on Tuesday announced Call of Duty - a new game series set on the battlefields of the 20th century’s most monumental conflicts. Players will experience war from the perspective of multiple characters from several countries - each with varying roles and duties - who fight alongside fellow soldiers in large battle sequences. The Call of Duty brand will include both console and PC games. The first title in the Call of Duty series is a World War II action game for the PC being developed by Infinity Ward - a newly formed studio that includes 22 of the individuals who previously developed Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Players assume the role of different characters from multiple sides of the Allied forces as they fight alongside their squad mates through a variety of missions - including battlefield assaults and sabotage as well as vehicle chases and tank battles. Gamers step into the boots of a U.S. paratrooper or a Russian infantryman as they take on the Nazis through pivotal World War II battles and historically accurate military campaigns. The title is slated for release later this year.
