Acclaim buys Alias game rights
Acclaim Entertainment has picked up the rights to make video games based on the hit television drama Alias. The publisher bought the rights from Disney Interactive, although details of the deal were not disclosed. Acclaim is already developing the first Alias title at its Cheltenham studios. The game will be released on the Nintendo GameCube, Sony Playstation 2 and Microsoft Xbox later this fall, the company said in a statement. The third-person action adventure video game will allow players to step into the role of the series lead character, Sydney Bristow, an agent for the CIA. Bristow must use her cunning, extensive knowledge of martial arts and array of high-tech gadgetry to accomplish dangerous missions. Alias will encompass all of the key elements behind the television series success, including high-action combat, stealth missions and time-based objectives, espionage, intriguing plot twists, high-tech weaponry and stunning gameplay locations that span the globe, the company said.Source: http://www.globetechnology.com
