KOEI SHIPS CRIMSON SEA™ FOR THE XBOX™ VIDEO GAME SYSTEM FROM MICROSOFT Intense Melee Sci-Fi Action Adventure for Xbox™ Available Now, Mini-site also goes Live Burlingame, CA – December 19, 2002 – KOEI Corporation announced today that Crimson Sea started shipping to retailers throughout North America, days earlier than originally scheduled. Consumers can expect to find the game on retail shelves beginning December 20. Gamers can also order Crimson Sea through online retailers including: ebgames.com, gamestop.com, toysrus.com and bestbuy.com. To coincide with the game’s launch, the mini-site for Crimson Sea will go live at 1:00pm, today. Consumers can access the mini-site at www.koeigames.com. The site is packed with game information, official Crimson Sea wallpapers, and includes the Crimson Sea trailer. “We are completely thrilled about the early release of Crimson Sea,” said Amos Ip, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at KOEI Corporation. “KOEI’s innovative game design and creativity have been applied to a completely original story filled with intriguing characters and mind-blowing action. The final result is one very exciting game. We believe that this title will appeal not only to the existing fans of KOEI products, but also to a new audience.” Crimson Sea is the story of Sho, a down and out detective, recruited to thwart an alien invasion on the solar system of Theophilus. Crimson Sea swells with action when Sho gets a team to back him up including: Shami, a bright woman with a strong sense of justice, the lovely and quick-witted Kecak, and the voluptuous Live-D. Crimson Sea takes the intense melee action that gamers have come to expect from the KOEI brand and transforms it with an epic sci-fi setting. Gamers will feel a rush as they decimate swarms of alien creatures and liquid morphing enemies. To survive, players use customized blaster rifles and brandish an array of plasma swords. Best of all is Sho’s ability to summon the power of Neo-Psionics, a breathtaking display of sound, light and energy that can devastate hordes of enemy aliens in a single move. Neo-Psionics are especially useful since KOEI’s “Group Control Engine” can place hundreds upon hundreds of alien baddies on screen at a single time, a game-programming feat that harnesses the sheer processing power of the Xbox. Furthermore, The game’s tactical element allows players to re-arrange squad formations, and choose missions in a non-linear progression. Cinematic-quality real-time graphics and heart-pounding Dolby Digital 5.1 fully immerse gamers into the Crimson Sea experience. The pre-launch buzz for the game has been tremendous. Silicon Magazine proclaims Crimson Sea, “definitely one of the best action titles on Xbox…” Famitsu, the highest-selling video game magazine in Japan and premier console gaming news source, awarded Crimson Sea its coveted “Gold Prize.”Source: http://www.koeigames.com/
