NBA Live 2003 Gets Early Release
Get off the bench and onto the court with EA SPORTS NBA LIVE 2003, released today by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo GameCube. The game was originally slated to ship in late October. The ninth installment of the best-selling basketball franchise, NBA LIVE 2003 allows players to get into the action and live their dreams of NBA superstardom. NBA LIVE 2003 features the revolutionary EA SPORTS Freestyle Control, letting players express their game through the use of the right analog. With the Freestyle Control, players can execute over 100 true-to-life moves such as the crossover dribble, step-back move, Triple-threat moves and pass interceptions, giving them total player control and making them feel like they are truly part of the action. Gamers will also have the chance to compete in head-to-head online play with NBA LIVE 2003 for the PlayStation 2. Featuring an on-line lobby, gamers can meet, greet and chat with other gamers around the country and will be able to download current rosters throughout the NBA season. In NBA LIVE 2003, the new Quick Play feature gives gamers the ability to make offensive and defensive set adjustments with one press of a button. Whether its an isolation or pick and roll on offense or man-to-man or zone coverage on defense, gamers now have control of what their teammates do on the court. Players can also use the new Take Charge button in order to draw the offensive foul. Gameplay enhancements made to NBA LIVE 2003 include over 30 new rebounding animations that make for better looking, more responsive and more accurate rebounding. A new shot blocking mechanism also allows players greater responsiveness and quickness to shots creating a greater chance of blocks. With a wider variety of shot blocking animations, players can find themselves blocking a ball off the backboard or rejecting a ball into the stands. The atmosphere of the NBA comes to life with new crowd animations, enhanced lighting for players and arenas, all 29 NBA coaches on the sidelines, as well as dramatic camera coverage of in-game and out of play sequences. Players can also relive the glory days of their favorite teams by choosing from a selection of Hardwood Classics(TM) jerseys for all 29 teams. NBA LIVE 2003 will also feature EA SPORTS TRAX, showcasing exclusive songs from some of todays hottest hip-hop artists including Flipmode Squad featuring Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and Fabolous.
