Galleon Q&A
Gamesradar.com spoke with Toby Gard of Confounding Factor about his upcoming swashbuckling action title, Galleon. Gard spoke on why the game is so behind, how working on Tomb Raider has gotten him ready for this new project, and much more. Here's a clip:Gamesradar: Galleon was originally slated to be released in spring 2000 - so why such a massive delay? Toby Gard: It's pretty much my fault. I underestimated the amount of work and underestimated the number of people it would need to make Galleon. The thing is, it's a very specific thing I was trying to achieve with this game and it has been fraught with technical difficulty. Luckily, I'm working with a group of very skilful programmers but the truth is that they have been over-worked through out the development of this project. To make a game as ambitious as Galleon, we really needed a team of equivalent size to the team that made Metal Gear Solid 2 but, instead, we are only 14. Galleon is late because I didn't want it out until it was what it was supposed to be.
