Sierra’s E3 Lineup
Bellevue, WA (May 10, 2002) - Sierra Entertainment, Inc., a studio of Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games), announced today its lineup of titles to be showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall booth #1200 from May 22nd - 24th. Sierra will present products being developed for the PC and all next generation platforms aimed to drive the upcoming holiday season. The lineup includes a list of high-caliber titles from established blockbuster franchises, as well as games with the power and potential to be Sierra's next huge hits. On the show floor, attendees will find Malice(tm), the highly anticipated platform action-adventure game scheduled to ship on the Xbox(tm) video game system and the PlayStation(r) 2 computer entertainment system later this year. SWAT(tm): Urban Justice, the fourth installment in the award-winning SWAT franchise, will be presented on the PC. Gamers will also get a sneak peek of The Hobbit(tm), based on J.R.R. Tolkien's worldwide best-selling novel, being developed for the Nintendo GameCube(tm). Also on the floor will be Tribes(tm) Aerial Assault, the console debut of one of the world's top PC action online games releasing this fall for the PlayStation 2. Additionally, Sierra will show NASCAR(r) Racing 2002 Season, the most recent addition to Sierra's award-winning racing franchise, which has sold over two million units. SIERRA'S E3 TITLE LINEUP: MALICE: Malice is a platform action-adventure game featuring the most unexpected heroine to come to the console arena. In development for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system, Malice is due to release worldwide later this year on both next generation consoles under the Sierra brand. Boasting a tough and feisty teenage heroine, players will no doubt grow addicted to guiding through time in order to undo the terror of a Dog God gone mad. Malice features 22 levels, a truly original story, and a cast of quirky characters. It's been heralded for its fantastic graphics, unique weaponry, compelling storyline, and intriguing heroine. SWAT: URBAN JUSTICE: SWAT: Urban Justice is the fourth in the SWAT series and the most compelling game yet from their award-winning franchise. With a new engine and new gameplay options, SWAT: UJ offers a premier law enforcement experience, allowing gamers to become a modern day hero and live the life of an elite SWAT officer. Players can go head-to-head with Los Angeles' most brutal street gangs when the game is released worldwide this September for the PC. SWAT: UJ is the only game to reward players for saving lives and protecting the innocent. It delivers 16 intense missions set in stunningly realistic Los Angeles locations that can be played in mission, career, and multiplayer modes. New weapons, characters, and gear will also be included. THE HOBBIT: The first video game based on the worldwide best-selling book of the same name, "The Hobbit" is a third-person action/adventure game set in the world of Middle-earth. In the game, players take the persona of Bilbo Baggins, an unassuming hobbit who has been unwittingly thrust into an epic adventure. ue to be released in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube, "The Hobbit" aims to set new standards for fantasy video games. TRIBES AERIAL ASSAULT: Tribes Aerial Assault for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system is the highly anticipated console debut of one of the world's top PC action online games, and will be one of the first games to take advantage of Sony's add-on network adapter. Unlike other shooters, Tribes Aerial Assault lets players fly in addition to running and jumping, a true 3D action experience that makes traditional action gaming seem stale and flat. New driving lessons will bring novice drivers up to speed, while track tours narrated by three-time NASCAR(r) Winston Cup Series racing Champion Darrell Waltrip will help even the most seasoned veterans find the fastest way around each circuit.
