PSA No. 2 - Final Fantasy Games Heading to Xbox’s Subscription Service
Just like the Kingdom Hearts announcement, last week Square Enix announced a number of Final Fantasy titles that have been released on other consoles will be available with Xbox Game Pass starting in 2020 for the Xbox One (and Windows 10).
Shinji Hashimoto, Final Fantasy Brand Manager, took to the stage at the event to announce that starting in 2020 (no exact date) the following titles from the Final Fantasy series will become available for all players with a current membership to Xbox Game Pass:
- FINAL FANTASY VII
- FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered
- FINAL FANTASY IX
- FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster
- FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE
- FINAL FANTASY XIII
- FINAL FANTASY XIII-2
- LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII
- FINAL FANTASY XV
We know that there are a ton of Final Fantasy fans out there who may enjoy this fact, but given the support other consoles have had with Final Fantasy games, this is but a drop in the bucket for true fans who own an Xbox One, and to tell you the truth, kind of sad. We hope one day to see the majority, or even all, Final Fantasy games on the Xbox branded console, as fans deserve to play them there.
