Warhammer Vermintide 2 Hitting the Xbox One on July 11th
Indie-developer Fatshark has finally announced Warhammer: Vermintide 2s release date on the Xbox One. Drumroll please: Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be available on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft on July 11th 2018.
Vermintide 2 is a visually stunning and groundbreaking melee action game pushing the boundaries of the first person co-op genre. Set during the apocalyptic End Times of the Warhammer world – the game introduces the dark, bloody and twisted forces of Chaos as an enemy faction. Other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System.
But that was not all the news. As a surprise to some, there is an open beta which actually begins today via Xbox Insider Program, and is open to everyone.
Fans can now pre-order of the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Premium Edition (Pre-order here). Why is there no ability to pre-order the standard edition you ask? Well, that is a great question, and we have a great answer for you. The standard edition will be available via the Xbox Game Pass program, so it will be free with your subscription. Should you wish to upgrade to the deluxe edition, you will be able to do so.
The premium edition indludes to following goodies:
- Sigmar Keep Statue
- Helmgart Heraldry Themed Skins
- Exclusive Pre-order Portrait Frame
- Premium Edition Portrait Frame
- 6x Exclusive Heroic Deeds
Finally, Fatshark also announced some of the Mixer Streaming integration that players can expect. Besides playing the game with three heroes, you can also get support - or not - from the Mixer audience when you stream. The Mixer integration makes it possible for viewers to participate in the game, where they can vote on what’s coming next, and more.
Oh, and one more quick tidbit. The game is Enhanced for Xbox One X and supports Native 4K on the mid-gen upgraded system. Check out a trailer highlighting the game below:
