Steep Road to the Olympics Beta Hits the Xbox One Today
For those fans who love winter sports, and who picked up a copy of Ubisoft’s Steep last year, there is a beta now on the Xbox One that allows you to check out what the content will be, how it will look, and most importantly, how it will play.
The open beta runs from November 28 to December 4 for Xbox Live Gold members. It will be enhanced on the Xbox One X as well. In this beta, you’ll get to experience 5 different challenges, including two Olympic events (Downhill and Big Air) in PyeongChang, South Korea, home of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
THere iwll also be a sction of the Japan map available for free-roaming play where you can ski, snowboad, wingsuit, and paraglide across the mountainside as much as you want. The full expansion is said to bring a larger Japanese area while the story mode of the expansion will have you on the journey of an Olympic athlete competing in three freststyle events including Big Air, Half Pipe and Slopestyle.
In terms of the full expansion, it officially arrives on December 5 for all to play. If you own the original Steep, there’s an expansion that includes all of the content in Road to the Olympics. If you don’t already own Steep, the Steep Winter Games Edition includes the base game and Road to the Olympics. There’s also a Steep Winter Games Gold Edition that includes the Steep base game, Road to the Olympics, and the Steep Season Pass.
