Elder Scrolls Online comes to Xbox One June 9th, subscription optional
From Shacknews:
Bethesda Softworks is announcing the release date of its long-awaited entry into the MMORPG market, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, will see a worldwide release on June 9, 2015 for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In addition to news of The Elder Scrolls Online’s actual release date later this year, Bethesda is also announcing those who pick up the game on consoles in June will not be required to pay a monthly game subscription for extended play. Instead, players will only need to make a one-time purchase of the game, which they can then enjoy hundreds of hours of content without the requirement of a monthly game subscription fee. This will also trickle over to the PC and Mac versions of The Elder Scrolls Online beginning March 17.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will include all of the gameplay from the original PC and Mac game, but it’ll also include all of the updates and content additions, which includes the new Justice and Champion systems. All existing PC and Mac game accounts, whether they be opened or closed, will automatically be updated to the Tamriel Unlimited edition.
The Tamriel Unlimited version of The Elder Scrolls Online will be supported with a number of optional downloadable content that’s available for purchase as well as an in-game Crown Store that offers convenience and customization items. Outside of those optional pieces of content, Bethesda promises regular updates and new gameplay will be offered to all players, free of charge.
Those who wish to get a bit more out of The Elder Scrolls Online will be able to partake in ESO Plus, which allows players to pay a monthly fee for premium membership services. These services includes exclusive in-game bonuses, a monthly allotment of crowns to use in the Crown Store and access to all DLC game packs, so long as they continue to be a member. PC and Mac players that have an active subscription will automatically be enrolled in ESO Plus starting on March 17.
