Project CARS delayed until March 2015
Project Cars, the crowdfunded simulation racing game from Slightly Mad Studios, has been pushed back to March 17, 2015, in North America, and March 20, 2015, in Europe, the studio announced today.
The new date, which applies to the games PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, represents a delay of four months — publisher Bandai Namco had previously set a release date of Nov. 18. In a press release today, Slightly Mad and Bandai Namco said they decided to push back Project Cars to move it out of the crowded fall 2014 release window, and to allow for additional development time.
Project Cars is also in development on SteamOS and Wii U. Its unclear if "PC" in Bandai Namcos press release refers to SteamOS as well as Windows PC. And the games Wii U version was previously confirmed for 2015, as opposed to the Nov. 18 date announced for other platforms; a Bandai Namco representative told Polygon that theres nothing more specific than "2015" for Wii U at this time. Were awaiting further details on the PC question, and will update this article with any information we receive.
Update: The SteamOS and Wii U versions of Project Cars will be available at a later date in 2015 following the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One releases, according to the FAQ on the games website.
