Walmart Canada offering best deal on Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Unity
Similar to the rare 2013-era pre-order pricing we highlighted on the Canadian Microsoft Store website yesterday, Walmart is offering some shocking pre-order prices on three very high profile games coming out for release this Fall, if you are a Canadian, that is.
Right now, as you can see in the Walmart.ca screen capture below, The Xbox 360, Xbox One and PS4 versions of Far Cry 4 are available for $49.99, which means a $20 saving on the price of the new-gen console versions and a $10 saving on the old-gen version at any other retailer. Similarly, Assassins Creed: Unity is also being offered on the new-gen consoles for $49.99, once again, a saving of $20 for the consumer. It should also be noted that just a little further down the page, Evolve for Xbox One and PS4 is priced at $59.99, a price that is being offered at all the big retailers, but is still a good deal cheaper than the $69.99 price Canadians are being forced to pay for most new games these days.
Now here is the REALLY good news. Following a call to Walmart.cas information hotline to confirm both the prices and the companys online pre-order policy, weve confirmed that not only are the above prices currently correct, but also that any pre-orders made at these current prices will be honored, even if the price goes up in the future. Unlike Microsoftstore.ca however, customers will be charged up-front for the pre-order, instead of being charged when the product ships.
If you ask this Xbox Addict member, the guarantee of a $20 savings each on two of this years hottest upcoming games is probably worth having to pay for them in advance, provided you were going to pay for the games anyway. Could it be that Ubisofts strong Canadian connection is responsible for this unusual discount? If it turns out to be true, Ill be sure to drop by their Toronto studio on the way to work to kiss Jade Raymonds hand in person.
