Dragon Age Inquisition will support Kinect voice-commands
Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWares next installment in the role-playing game franchise, will feature Kinect-powered voice controls for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Official Xbox Magazine reports.
Although previous Dragon Age games have not included voice commands, BioWare added Kinect functionality to the Xbox 360 edition of its space epic conclusion, Mass Effect 3. Speaking with OXM, creative director Mike Laidlaw said the developer expects to ship the game with a "Kinect-enabled voice command feature, just likeMass Effect 3 did."
In Mass Effect 3, players can deliver commands to squad mates, activate abilities and switch weapons with speech prompts. Details on how Inquisitions voice commands will work were not provided. BioWare also plans to use Xboxs SmartGlass app for the game, producer Cameron Lee said.
"It needs to make sense, of course," Lee said. "But we want Inquisition to be an experience you can take with you everywhere — to work, the commute home, the living room, bed."
Dragon Age: Inquisition was originally announced as Dragon Age 3: Inquisition in 2012. The game is expected to launch this fall for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Yesterday, BioWare announced that it will not release additional party members post-launch.
