Titanfall has landed on Xbox 360, and it runs pretty darn good
Bluepoint Games Xbox 360 port of Titanfall promised an "above 30fps" experience. It appears the team has over-delivered on their promise.
While the Xbox One version runs at 792p with 2x MSAA, the Xbox 360 version doesnt fall too far behind, running at 600p with 2x MSAA. Like the next-gen version, Bluepoint opts for an unlocked framerate, one capped at 60 frames per second. According to Digital Foundry, the game does hit 60fps, but only when "not much is going on."
Overall, the game delivers an average of 46.5 fps according to Digial Foundrys analysis. However, the inconsistent framerate results in screen tearing, so the game gives players the option of locking at 30fps for a slower but more consistent experience.
Given that Xbox 360 is nearly a decade old, its impressive Bluepoint was able to do so much. "With just one tenth of the available RAM and far less capable silicon, its safe to say that Bluepoint Games has more than exceeded expectations," the report concludes.
