CoD: Ghosts gets update today, Xbox One version gets LAN support
A title update for Call of Duty: Ghosts went live across all platforms today, including a patch for the Wii U, introducing anti-cheat updates, addition of the Free Fall multiplayer map and LAN support for for the Xbox One.
New features were rolled out to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC, such as a new menu layout, the addition of Hunted Free For All to the leaderboard and more. Anti-cheat tools received unspecified updates, as well as a fix to prevent players from modifying ‘kick messages.
All five platforms received numerous eSports updates, including fixes for not allowing people in an eSports system link game from viewing third-person and an issue that could cause a user to get booted for repeatedly changing classes during match.
General fixes include addressing issues such as players who switch teams now see correct colored notifications when their allies use kill streaks, a fix where a players were unable to call out a killstreak or care package, kill death history not updating in team matches that expire on time and more.
Extinction received numerous updates that addressed a cash exploit, reducing the Explosive Ammo radius, the addition of Hardcore Mode added to Local, Solo, and Custom Matches for Point of Contact and Nightfall and more.
Specific console updates include the addition of LAN support for the Xbox One. In January, Infinity Ward outlined plans to roll out a number of competitive gaming focussed updates for Call of Duty: Ghosts, including changes to the broadcaster mode and competitive rules. The developer stated at the time that it was looking into adding Xbox One LAN support.
Wii U updates address numerous issues including broken operations, throwing a tactical grenade could cause the player to switch weapons, a Lobby Migration issue that would force the Create a Soldier screen to close, inconsistency in the presentation of profile names when switching controllers and leaderboard fixes. Other issues addressed include a splitscreen UI bug, audio problems, unlimited weapon glitch in first contact and many others.
