Pre-order DLC Roundup: Batman AO gets Deathstroke, Thief gets Bank
Come on, you know you want to play as assassin that has almost as many cool nicknames as The Bat himself.
"Iwannit iwannit iwannit!" you may have screamed, throwing coins at a confused and welted GameStop employee, but the more sensible among you probably didn’t immediately buy Batman: Arkham Origins upon hearing that Deathstroke is playable in pre-order bonus DLC. If you’d like to know more about it first, what luck, Warner Bros today released a trailer showing the villain punching many men--100, to be exact.
The Deathstroke Challenge Pack DLC introduces ’100-to-1’ mode which, well, is about what you’d expect: he fights 100 men. As well as two extra challenge maps, he’ll have three outfits, showing his looks from the main game, Injustice, and the ’Judas Contract’ comic book arc. Deathstroke has three special moves of his own too.
If that sounds like your bag but you don’t fancy pre-ordering, well, I imagine it’ll be sold separately not too long after launch anyway. Here’s that peek at the DLC:
[Meanwhile] the new Thief is hoping to lure in nostalgics and crime-lovers with an "exclusive" mission named The Bank Heist.
Publisher Square Enix describes The Bank Heist as "a true homage to the Bank mission in Thief II: The Metal Age." It sends Garrett sneaking into the Stonemarket First Bank to steal a family heirloom named the Star of Auldale (and whatever else he can get his mitts on). Banks being pretty secure places, it’ll include security systems not seen anywhere else in the game.
Eidos Montreal ruffled a few feathers with its last bonus pre-order DLC. The Tong’s Rescue mission for Deus Ex: Human Revolution included a cameo appearance from a key Deus Ex character, which people were naturally quite keen to see. The DLC was sold separately after a while, as I imagine this will surely be too, but it stuck in some’s craws. Look, a bank:
