Microsoft, Turn 10 let loose with pre-E3 trailers
Microsoft has released a trailer for its Xbox One pre-E3 event on June 10, revealing some of the games we can expect to see at the Xbox Media briefing.
The teaser trailer features a number of current generation and next-generation titles that are already in development and will be shown during the Xbox One event.
Confirmed upcoming titles Forza Motorsport 5, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Dark Souls 2 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist all get a mention in Microsoft’s E3 2013 teaser trailer. The EA Sports Ignite engine, Madden, UFC and FIFA also get an airing, celebrating the EA Sports deal that means FIFA 14: Ultimate Team will be an Xbox One exclusive.
Currently available titles like Gears of War: Judgment and Halo 4 are also featured in the teaser trailer, though we’re not sure at this stage how they’ll be showcased during the briefing and the following E3 live coverage.
The trailer promises “daily live coverage”, “exclusive content”, “live developer interviews”, and “reveals and announcements” for its “new generation of games.” The trailer also asks viewers to “vote LIVE”, but gives no more details on the matter.
Microsoft chose to launch the Xbox One in two halves. It used the May 21 unveiling to focus on the entertainment aspects of its next-gen console, while E3 will be centred on the Xbox One games.
“E3 is absolutely all about the games,” said Microsoft’s Xbox UK Marketing Director, Harvey Eagle. “E3 is gaming, gaming, gaming. We’ve been very clear about that internally in our planning.”
The Xbox One will be home to 15 exclusive games titles, eight of which will be entirely new IPs developed for Microsoft’s next-generation console.
“I hope people weren’t confused about games still being absolutely critical and fundamental to us”, added Eagle. “We are a gaming machine that is designed to deliver the best experiences in gaming.”
The Xbox One pre-E3 briefing will take place on June 10 at 12.30pm ET or 5.30 BST. Microsoft will also be offering Live Daily Coverage from E3 at 7pm ET on June 11, 12 and 13.
Not to be outdone, the folks at Turn 10 have also released a promotional video for Forza Motorsport 5, called "Forza 5: An Xbox One Game Ten Years in the Making".
And here I was, playing Forza 4 and Forza Horizon like a sucker!
