Wolfenstein: The New Order announced
GAME PUBLISHER Bethesda Softworks announced Wolfenstein: The New Order on Monday for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and next generation consoles including the PS4 and next Xbox.
Set to arrive in the fourth quarter, the latest game in the first-person shooter series, which is being developed by Swedish developer Machinegames, will "offer players a gripping and dramatic experience," Bethesda said, although it doesnt offer up any more information about the game.
However, Gamespot revealed that Wolfenstein: The New Order will be set in the 1960s after the Nazis won World War II. According to the gaming website, "Gamers play as the familiar American war hero BJ Blazkowicz and are tasked with launching an impossible counter-offensive against the Nazi powers that have taken over the world."
Wolfenstein players can also expect to handle "super weapons" that the Nazis used for battling enemies too, good news for those who are into that kind of thing.
"We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere," said Jens Matthies, creative director at Machinegames.
"As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud."
Theres no release date yet, but we can expect Wolfenstein: The New Order to arrive following the release of the PS4 and next generation Xbox, which is expected to be towards the end of the year.
