Ubisoft Toronto steps up to next, next AC game
Ubisoft is positioning its new-ish Toronto studio as one of the big ones, giving the team one of its biggest franchises to play with in Splinter Cell Blacklist. It still has to do the Ubi grunt work of helping with other studios annual sequels, though. Managing director Jade Raymond confirmed itll be collaborating with Ubisoft Montreal on a future Assassins Creed game, one after AC4: Black Flag (pictured).
"As were wrapping up Splinter Cell, were also looking to expanding, so were going to be working on five different projects," Raymond told IGN.
"One of the franchises thats very near and dear to me, Assassins Creed, is one of the ones were going to be collaborating on in Toronto, as well as one other big franchise which were not going to announce yet. But were going to be doing two other big collaborations also with Montreal."
Ubi Toronto is confirmed to be helping on Rainbow 6 Patriots too, which has "a good chance" of hitting next-gen consoles. Montreal is also home to the Prince of Persia and the Far Cryseries, so take your pick!
Raymond said in 2010 that the studio was planning to work on five big fancy games in its first decade. Seems its well on-course.
