Free Catwoman Character for Batman AC
One of the few complaints of Batman: Arkham City raised was that not everyone will be able to experience the Catwoman content. That’s because Warner Bros. has locked it behind an online pass-style code included with new copies of the game. Anyone who borrows a copy or purchases it used will need to fork over $10. That is, unless they buy it at GameStop.
A memo obtained by Kotaku reveals GameStop will include this code even with used copies of the game. Rather than be located on a voucher inside the box, it will be printed on the receipt. This has since been confirmed with GameStop stores.
GameStop often takes a lot of flak for not offering much money for used games and then reselling them at a huge profit. At least in this case, it seems to be the way to go if you’re looking for a used copy of Arkham City.
These types of codes are becoming increasingly common, although more often than not they’re used to lock players out of online multiplayer as opposed to single-player content. With a single-player-only game like Arkham City, the latter is the only option available -- it just would be nice if that content didn’t potentially change the beginning of the game when it’s active.
