ACB Offering Another Free DLC Pack in January
When Ubisoft announced that the first bit of Assassins Creed Brotherhood downloadable content would be free, we naturally assumed it was a diplomatic way of saying any content after that would not be free. Apparently we were wrong, as Ubisoft has countered our cynicism by announcing a second free update coming to the game next month.
Titled the "Animus Project 2.0," the second pack is set to hit sometime in January. It will bring with it a new Pienza multiplayer map, and the Chest Capture multiplayer mode, i.e. capture the flag. The update will also include a "Templar Score" feature, but the press release doesnt specify what exactly it is.
We have to think the inevitable Animus Project 3.0 will cost cash-money; Ubisoft isnt running a charity. Then again, weve been surprised twice now already, so you never know. This strategy of free updates may be combating used sales better than paid content. The Animus Project 1.0 update hits Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network today, offering the Mont Saint-Michel map and Advanced Alliance game mode.
