Shattered Dimensions Getting Costume Pack
Among all the excitement about new Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters and rereleases of classic arcade games, Marvel also took a little time in their New York Comic-Con panel today to highlight one of their more popular games already on store shelves: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. During the panel, developer Beenox revealed a new downloadable costume pack would be released before the end of the month, and also gave a small tease about future follow-ups.
The "Cosmic" costume pack, which was originally intended to be a pre-order bonus, will add a new galactic-themed outfit for each version of Spidey in the game (image above via Joystiq). The pack will be released before the end of the month, but no specific date was given, nor did Beenox say how much the costume pack will cost.
Meanwhile, Thomas Wilson, the creative director of Shattered Dimensions, also took a few questions from the audience. One question was whether there are any plans for a sequel, to which Wilson coyly answered, "I think our first date with Spider-Man went well, and we want to build it into a strong relationship."
In other words: It looks like the prospects of a sequel are pretty good. Whether any potential follow-up would maintain the multi-dimensional motif or try something new, though, will be interesting to see.
