Gearbox Working to Honor Duke Nukem Pre Orders
Its an age-old story. Boy likes game, boy pre-orders game, boy forgets about game for a decade as it becomes perpetually delayed. Luckily, now that Gearbox has resolved to finish Duke Nukem Forever, the company is attempting to fulfill those old pre-orders. Gearbox is working with retailers to solve the problem.
"There are a lot of people who pre-ordered the game," said Randy Pitchford to VG247. "Weve been starting to talk with retailers because we didnt take them directly, and 3D Realms didnt take them... Weve started to engage them, saying Hey, youve got customers who you made a promise to, and any bad feeling they have will reflect on us, so can we work together to do something for these people? I dont know what we can do yet, but something should be done for the people who pre-ordered."
Of course, if youve moved to a new house, lost your receipt, or otherwise changed information since buying your pre-order, you might have a hard time proving that you placed it at all. But if you held onto some kind of proof, Gearbox is at least trying to make sure it still counts for something.
