NBA Elite may release after season starts
Stating that the game was "not yet ready," Peter Moore mentioned [via his EA Sports blog] that the games launch will not happen next week as originally planned. No new release date has been mentioned, as Moore stated "We are going to keep working until were certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience."
In order to serve EA customers who want to be ready for the NBA season, Moore has noted that several changes will be made to accomodate customers. The rosters for NBA Live 2010 will be updated at the beginning of the 2010-11 season to match the team setups, while NBA Jam (originally scheduled to release as a bonus with Elite) will be sold on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as a "standalone product" during the holidays. The games October 5 release date on the Wii is unaffected. No date has been set for the games standalone release, nor has it been revealed whether the game will be available via retail or download channels. However, given the notification that Jam will be coming to HD consoles during the holidays, combined with the changes being made to the non-Elite properties, seem to indicate that Elite will be missing the beginning of the basketball season, and possibly all of 2010.
More information can be found in the source link below, but GamePro has sent questions to an EA Sports representative for clarification regarding the companys upcoming basketball games. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on Elites delay?
