Batman Arkham City May Have Vehicles, Co-Op
Batman: Arkham City is still at least a year away, but more details continue to surface on what to expect from the sequel to one of the best superhero games ever made. The latest info comes from a new preview in Official PlayStation Magazine U.K. (via VG247), and along with more specifics on the gameplay and setting, its a couple of points that are only hinted at that sound the most exciting: the potential inclusion of vehicles and co-op multiplayer.
As OPM reports, the titular Arkham City (which, as previously revealed, is a whole section of Gotham City walled-off to contain all of Gothams criminals) will be five times the size of Arkham Asylum in the original game. This huge expanse means Batman will have a few new moves to get around quickly, including a "Grappling Boost" to launch him high into the air for long-distance gliding, along with a second grappling hook for whats described as Spider-Man-style swinging. But when asked whether vehicles will also help Batman zoom around, a Warner Bros. PR representative only hinted that its "something well cover at a later date."
As for Arkham Citys previously promised multiplayer mode, its sounding more and more likely that itll have the second player taking control of Catwoman. Shes described as using her whip the same way that Batman uses his grappling hook, and again, when asked if she would be controllable, game director Sefton Hill said he was "not allowed to comment on that."
Hell have plenty of time to comment on it before the games release, though. Batman: Arkham City isnt planned to hit store shelves until fall of next year.
