Halo Reach Patch to Add Campaign Matchmaking
Halo Reach may be Bungies swan song for the series, but it will still be supporting the game through patches. The first of these will come in October, to add new features and modes among the traditional bug fixes. Bungies weekly update highlighted the incoming update.
The post states that they withheld Campaign matchmaking so that someones first experience with the story would in the proper order. A patch is set for sometime in October which will add the feature, but it wont pick stages based on your current progress in the game. Bungie advises finishing the game before jumping into a random stage to avoid spoilers. Well also see some game types, Forge maps, and bug fixes added to the game in early October.
The weekly update doesnt mention what the new modes might be, but drops some hints of game types that are on the docket to be added eventually: Rocket Race and Firefight Versus. Were not sure if the new October game modes will include either of these, but well keep an eye out for more information.
