Batman: Arkham City to Feature Multiplayer
Arkham City might still be more than a year away from release and many details remain unknown, but it appears that one huge bit of information has been released: It will include a multiplayer game mode.
According to PSM3 magazine (via ArkhamCity.co.uk), "Multiplayer is a certainty, but [there are] no details on this yet." Multiplayer doesn’t necessarily mean a straightforward deathmatch mode, as some might assume; multiplayer might simply indicate a co-op mode where a second player assumes the role of Catwoman or Robin. If it is co-op that’s included in Arkham City, it’s also possible that it will be an entirely separate mode from the single-player game, for those worried that the main campaign will be watered down by made-for-co-op content.
There’s currently no word on when developer Rocksteady will reveal more about the game’s multiplayer. As soon as it does, we’ll bring you the latest.
