EA to Reveal Dead Space Animated Feature and Novel

The Dead Space franchise continues to expand in every which way, as Electronic Arts will reveal two new additions to the franchise today: Graphic novel Dead Space Salvage and animated feature Dead Space Aftermath. The two new products will be officially revealed later today at Comic-Con during the the Dead Space 2 panel.
"It is tremendously inspiring to see Dead Space continually expand to more media," said Dead Space franchise executive producer Steve Papoutsis. "It has always been our goal to experience the universe through multiple lenses and our vision is being realized. The Dead Space world is living, breathing, and terrifying. We couldn’t be more excited about these new offerings."

The graphic novel, Dead Space Salvage, follows the story of the Magpies and their discovery of the USG Ishimura. It features the art of Christopher Shy and will be published by IDW this December.

Dead Space Aftermath, on the hand, focuses on the story of the Aegis VII disaster and how a crew sent by the government become exposed to Marker shards. It’s being developed by Starz and Film Roman and will be available one month later, in January 2011.

Those two releases will lead right up to Dead Space 2 which is scheduled for release on January 25, 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
