Halo Reach Slated For September 14 Release
The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta ended just days ago and already weve learned of the full games release date: September 14. That release date applies worldwide with the exception of Japan, where itll be out a day later.
The news was made in spectacularly quiet fashion, hidden in a press release (via MCV) about the impressive turnout the Reach beta saw. More than 16 million hours were played in the beta by 2.7 million people, amassing 1.1 billion kills in that period of time.
"Its exceeded our expectations," said Bungie community director Brian Jarrard. "Our only real perspective going into this was the Halo 3 beta test, which had about 800,000 people. We knew there were a couple million copies of ODST out there, but we really didnt have any specific information that let us know what the population might be like."
The September release should give it a solid two months or so before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops which, like Halo, is sure to be a heavy-hitter. When its released, there will be three versions of Reach to choose from, including a $150 Legendary Edition, so you might want to begin saving those pennies now if you consider yourself a true Halo fan.
