Red Dead Redemption Banned in United Arab Emirates
Our friends in the United Arab Emirates might not be able to join us for some Red Dead Redemption when it releases this week. Rumor has it that Rockstars sequel to Red Dead Revolver has been banned in the U.A.E.
Middle Eastern gaming site ME Gamers posted word that, according to retailers in the lavish Dubai Mall, the sale of Red Dead Redemption has been restricted by the countrys National Media Council. Other games previously banned in the U.A.E. include Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the God of War series, and Heavy Rain.
As for the reasoning behind the ban, no official statement has been provided by the U.A.E. Media Council. Red Dead Redemption picked up an M rating from the ESRB for "blood, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, use of drugs."
