Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Maps Detailed
We certainly didnt have to wait very long for more details on the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence map pack. It was just announced yesterday, and already Robert Bowling has spilled some information about it on the Major Nelson podcast (via Joystiq). As expected, Activision is taking the winning formula of the Stimulus Pack and applying it again, offering three new maps and two old ones for $15.
The two maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be Vacant and Strike. The three new maps are Carnival, which includes a Ferris wheel and fun house; Trailer Park, which features "super tight corridors"; and Fuel, a sniper map based in an oil refinery. Also like the Stimulus maps, theyll be tied to specific playlists, but Bowling says high demand could place them in all of the playlists.
Despite some gamer rage at the Stimulus price, the pack sold 2.5 million in a week, one million of which was in the first 24 hours alone. That means Activision brought in nearly 40 million dollars in a seven-day period. The old saying about voting with your wallet rings true here, and the votes are in: Activision is pricing the packs at the point they know gamers are willing to pay.
