Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
Overall: Egads! This is the letdown of the century. If you want a Metal Gear 1 rehash I highly recommend it as the graphics and gameplay have not improved whatsoever. Metal Gear Solid on PS1 was a masterpiece compared to this pile of dung. Lousy controls, practical blindness, strange story, and way too many FMVs combine for an awful experience. I bought the game and found myself asking, "Do I really have to play this?" Save your money and skip this one.Gameplay: Ugh! The controls are awful. If you'd like to shoot straight you'll have to put yourself into first person perspective, aim an extremely oversensitive weapon with your thumbstick and fire. Then you have to switch back to third person mode if you want to move. You can't do anything in first person mode, cant' change your weapon or equipment and you can't walk. You are virtually blind because in order to look around you have to make yourself a sitting duck in first person mode.
Graphics: PS1 anybody? This is supposed to be a killer PS2 title yet the graphics were far superior on some PS1 titles. Not good.
Audio: I can't even think of one sound from the game so there clearly is no appeal. I'm going to type this sentence to fulfill XBA's minimum character requirement.
Suggestions: Konami should close it's doors. They've been such a letdown lately. I remember the glory days of MGS and Castlevania:SOTN on the Playstation. Silent Hill 2 and MGS:Substance are huge letdowns with only marginal improvements over their predecessors on inferior machines.

Overall: Worst game ever. Don't spend your money on this game. Not even to rent it. Even if you get it for free you still shouldn't play it.Gameplay: Sloppy, inconsistent, glitchy. Features disappearing weapons and characters. Combo system is wasted as the game is nothing more than a button mash
Graphics: The graphics would have kicked !&%$@#* on the Playstation 1. There is nothing to comment on here. Don't expect anything wonderful.
Audio: Annoying Chinese music over and over beating into your head and making you into a raving madman. No music at times.
Suggestions: THQ should quit the software business and find something new. They seem to be experts in annoyance and frustration so I recommend something along those lines.
