Virtua Tennis 3 Box art Sega Presents Virtua Tennis 3. Sega has been one of the premiere arcade game producers for a number of years. In the distance past they were one of the leading producers of game consoles and introduced a number of us to the world of sports. They capture your imagination and leave you wanting more. Over the years they have produced exciting sports game titles with stunning graphics and with an arcadish twist. The real sports enthusiast has often wondered what it would be like to return a 143 km serve, or go toe to toe with the games number one man or women tennis star. Sega has billed this as the champion of tennis games. It is offering exciting options like world tour; tennis academy and customization like you have never had in a tennis game.

Think about the time you have been playing tennis yourself and you hit the top spin forehand down the line only to have your opponent return it back to you, so you decide to play a backhand cross court and he gets there. What next what about a slice the tails away from him. You head to the net thinking that if he gets there he will be hitting a lob that you can smash down his throat. You go to wipe the sweat off your forehead and you realize you are playing tennis on your 42? plasma in high definition. You can hear in true digital sound the grunts, the squeaks and the slides across the clay courts of Spain. Graphics so real you think you are centre court at Wimbledon or at the US Open. The graphics have come light years from the day s of pong and have got so good the casual observers are going to have trouble knowing the difference between what is real and what is not. Now having played a number of different sports games you soon find out how good this one is. In the easiest of modes my 4 year old can challenge the AI with great difficulty. Just like his wiser father in the toughest of modes I can get my butt whooped. This game offers everything you would expect from a virtual game experience. This game allows you to choose the direction you want to go in. Keeping with a tradition of giving you more do you have time to play the world tour? Create your own personality; meld him or her into the model that best fits your exceptionally well conditioned body. Pick and earn the wardrobe you want to wear. Now you look good, but can you play? Currently you are ranked 300th in the world. Do you hit the challenges that can help you climb the ladder or do you hit the academy and hone the skills you have so that when ready you will be able to take on the top and elite players of the game. They have included a number of mini games that can help increase your ability to move the ball around the court and in the intense moment of a tournament you will be able to drop a timely drop shot or an over powering back hand winner. Learning to hit shots and what effect they will have on the opponent is one of the exciting parts of tennis.

No time for that kind of a game experience. How about playing a tournament and take on the top players on your quest to be the number one player. But I have forgotten one of the most stunning experiences of this game. The courts. Imagine playing on the hot clay surface in Spain or the cool grass courts of the prestigious Wimbledon or on the hard courts of the United States. Each surface gives you a slightly different game play. You will find your sliding around the clay courts, diving on the grass and smashing them down the lines on the hard surfaces.

Sounds of the tennis world is tough, the grunts, groans and moans are not just from the crowds. Players are using every bit of strength to hit some of these shots and this game brings the sounds right through the speakers. This is the hardest part of this game to rate. The sounds of the game are great. You can listen to the umpire in there native language, or switch it to your choice. the sounds are all but forgettable. Pump up the volume on your i-pod you will enjoy the sounds of this game.

Suggestions:
Overall this is a great sports game and is a lot of fun to play. Not all games have a very easy level that I can play with my kid. This was an enjoyable experience. I would like to make a game suggestion. Get ride of the mini games in the world tour. Make them the unlock able features. Let us play matches and build our skills in the academy.
