Major League Baseball 2K7 Box art A great author once wrote "it is the worst of times, it is the best of times". America?s favourite pastime has definately brough us that. Baseball has gone through many changes since the days of 1927 Yankees with Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. Have you seen the famous point where you are going to hit it home run, his 60 homers in a season or the fact that he was originally a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox (the reason for the curse of the bambino). Then after these legends came players like Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb and Roger Maris who had the record of 61 homers in the single season. The modern day hero?s brought us Cal Ripkin Jr. consecutive game streak surpassing the legend Lou Gerigh. The famous Blue Jays David Henderson's only career bunt and in the World Series or Joe Carter?s world series winning walk off home run, and the regular season brilliance of the Atlanta Braves. Enter the 1990's with baseball strikes, and not thrown by a pitcher. The re-surgence of the longball with a race that captivated the imaginations of all those who watched the race with Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire. What a time that was. During the last 20 years or so we have seen video game baseball evolve from Odyssey 2, MLB 1984, with team expansion kits for the 1985 season, hardball 1,2,3 or 4. We have had a multitude of Managers sponsor games from Earl Weaver, Tony La Russa and Tommy Lasorda. Each year we have had better graphics, improved sounds and playability. With the introduction of actual ballparks and the ability to control your team budget and salary. Make trades that are easy or difficult. Create your fantasy team, or stick to your favourite team?s roster. 2k sports presents a baseball that has no equal. 2k7 MLB.

I am a long time sports simulation enthusiast. One of my biggest complaints over the years has been the announcers. Horrendous one liners and often they are not who we would want to listen to when we watch games on Television never mind having to listen to them during game play. I now bring you the 2k sports version of game announcers that are witty and who we listen too on a regular basis. Joe Morgan and Jon Miller bring us the Sunday night baseball all through the regular season. They do not disappoint in this game. They have brought there live personalities from Sunday Night Baseball right into the game. 2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K7 in my opinion is a whole new ball game.

2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K7 features Signature Style Pitching, hitting stances and true fielding. Has brought in Inside Edge, franchise Finance and of course 2k sports Online Play. Have you ever wanted to swing like Wells or pitch like Roger. Signature style is a great editions of simulation baseball. Watching the bat waggle, home celebrations, pitching windups and deliveries more authentic and realist than ever before. Play in Franchise mode and get team reports in more categories and with more detail than ever offered in a console sports game. The inside edge can really give insights on how to pitch, or strategies, who?s hot and who?s not. You can control your franchise with team news, adjust your budget based on team revenue. These features enhance game play.

Once you have entered in to a game you will soon see this is not an old school base ball game. Graphics so realist one passer-by actually asked if the baseball season had already started. The artificial intelligence is good but not great. You can make some spectacular plays in the infield with some 6-4-3 double plays or climb the wall and steal a home run away. The hitting and field is easy to grasp in the lower levels of the game. But in the more advanced level of the games timing becomes more important. This is definitely the best baseball game out there.

Get your popcorn here! Ice Cold Drinks, you can here it now, imagine your self sitting in your favourite ball parks and the sounds that come with it. The game comes with the most extensive sounds to date. But I think this is where is fell, a little short. They hit it off the wall; the music did not seem to be in tune with the atmosphere of the ball parks. But fine tune your own music selection in each park and it becomes a little better. When it comes to the crack of the bat or the sounds of hitting the wall or a called third strike. They got these ones, right.

Suggestions:
Having played every baseball title out there since the Odyssey 2 and early 80?s console experience. I can honestly this is the most visually pleasing version yet. If you are looking for real players, real ball parks, the options of old time legends this is the game for you. I have one complaint and it comes when you hit a home run and you get the dreaded Loading icon. You would think the HD graphics processor capabilities that delays like this would not happen. It can be very annoying if you are longball hitter like me. A recommendation to developers is simple. Make it better, faster and add even more fun. This is a game every sports enthusiast will want to buy and play over and over again.
