TT Isle of Man 3 - 2023 TT Races Roster DLC
by Brent RobertsOne of the most iconic aspects of racing involves the liveries on the vehicles themselves. Legendary vehicles throughout racing history have all been draped in sponsors and stripes, and have been the goal of many customizers in the games, as well to pay homage to these historic racers and vehicles. In the history of motorsport there are a few races that stand out as true tests of a driver's potential, but only one has worn the crown since its inception, the TT Isle of Man.
This race takes place on an actual island and consists of several timed stages in a combined distance of over 20 miles. Now you may be thinking "Le Mans is an entire 24 hours and covers more miles", and while you would be correct, what sets this race apart is the fact that is a street race, where instead of a smoothed-out racetrack, you have rural streets that the general public uses every day. So, you've got dips, bumps, walls, trees, houses, cars, and any other object you can think of that would be found in real life.... and yes, you can hit all of them (totally definitely not speaking from experience) in the game.
What also makes this race the absolute king of all races is that you do all this on a motorcycle. Gone are the 4 wheels, monocoque bodies, and safety features of a car. Instead, you're given a racing suit and a helmet and shoved out into the race like a momma bird kicking their baby out of the nest to fly; and fly you must in this game. Pushing the bounds of speed of over 100 - 150mph on a bike while you traverse the island means you have to... and I mean HAVE TO, figure out how to balance breaking and throttle before you're broken in half and throttled forward for about 100 yards down the road.
This TT Isle of Man 3 DLC pays tribute to the king of the race himself, John McGuinness. If you're wondering who he is, he's won 23 times while also pulling together 47 podiums AND being the first and only racer to average a speed of over 130 mph. To put this into perspective, when you take into consideration the elevation, tight corners, regular street roads, and all the environment that is in the Isle of Man, you'd have to push your bike at almost full throttle constantly to maintain that speed and to still be alive to tell about it, means you're something special, and that's what this bike is.
To pay tribute to such a dramatic accomplishment and incredible rider, the developers have put in the game a unique livery bike skin that is reproduced from the legend's bike itself and also contains an actual golden livery and racing outfit that celebrates this iconic rider and the pure history of this truly iconic race. Put the vizor down, tighten up the knee pads, and pray hard, because despite this amazing tribute, racing the TT Isle of Man is arguably the biggest challenge in motorsport and no one did it better than John McGuinness.
