The Ring of a Spartan

by Brent Roberts

One day I was just killing time looking over a few crowdfunding pages and I came across this one project from a skilled artisan named David Edward. His campaign wasn't for some high tech watch or gadget, but for a custom crafted titanium ring. Now if I'm being honest, I was skeptical at first. Having backed and been burned on countless projects, I was indeed hopeful for a success. Having gone over some of the images and backstory, I decided to back the project and I'm ever so grateful that I did.

(Part of the magic behind the curtain.)

(The promise was great.)

I decided to get in direct contact with David, who is a tremendous businessman, to go over possible options. Having gone over his site edwardbrotherstitaniumrings.com and taking a look at the detail provided, I started tossing some ideas around with him as to the design. I was thinking of some way to incorporate my love for Halo and Xbox, and that is when we started to look into possibilities.

(The execution was amazing.)

I asked if doing a raised helmet was possible and he said no, however, that doesn't mean that all hope was lost. After delving into imagery that would be possible, he came back with an image that was stunning and fit the whole ring perfectly. I then asked if it were possible to do my Gamertag on the ring itself, and what he mocked up was absolutely stunning! As a little surprise David also downloaded a Halo font so that my Gamertag will be in a the iconic Halo text!

(The birth of The Ring of a Spartan.)

(Available color choices.)

(Different variants and color choices.)

After several back and forth emails we finally came to a decision, and I have to thank him for being patient with me as I did not know all the work involved and the limitations and performance of the machine itself. Now the hardest part of the entire process was upon me, the waiting period. Several weeks pass and I kept looking at the rendition image I had like how you would see someone in a movie look at an image of a lost love. David did show me pictures of it right out of the mill and before the anodizing, and it looked stunning!

(Let the teasing begin.)

(Watching as it comes to life.)

One day though, I was awoken by the sound of a notification on my phone. Groggy, I opened my eyes, and once I could focus I reached for my phone where a lone email awaited me. I opened it up and inside was a message. The message stated that my ring was on the way! The FedEx tracking number was provided with a specific delivery date! Now I do have to admit I was a little impatient after that email but who can blame me right? So now I'm at home on delivery day and I hear my doorbell ring and a knock at the door. Like the Christmas tale, I flew to the door to see what was the matter. I get there and FedEx has me sign for a package. I opened it up and inside a bird's nest was a small black box, and inside it, The Ring of a Spartan.

(The Ring of a Spartan arrived!)

(The level of detail is incredible.)

(Another pic of it in it's nest.)

The quality and detail work is absolutely stunning! Taking it out of the box, I instantly could feel the smoothness of the ring and the intricate detail work, and when I slid it onto my finger, it felt like home. It goes without saying that these brothers are masters of a craft and their work is worth every penny. I encourage all of you to visit his website edwardbrotherstitaniumrings.com and start your ordering! Words and pictures don't do this ring justice and I'm already planning my next one! Thank you for making this experience truly one that, like Master Chief, will never be forgotten.

As a special note the ring maker himself has done XboxAddict and all of you a tremendous favor!
